Entry qualification | Bachelor diploma (or higher) Holding a three-year BA degree in Theology, Religious Studies or another closely related field. The following Bachelor and Master study programmes may also be taken into account: The minimum number of credits needed for entering the programme is at least 90 credits from the core material of the theological undergraduate studies. For the enrolment in the programme is conditional that the applicant has 30 credits completed from the knowledge base of the undergraduate studies in theology. The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English. Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. |

Overview
Description of the course / programme
The Master of Theology consists of two phases. The first phase provides a two semester general studies of Biblical languages (Hebrew or Greek), Biblical Hermeneutics and Exegesis, Systematic Theology, History and Presence of Church and Society, Living and Serving in the Church (Spirituality, Community and Communication). In the second phase students may choose two of the following modules: State and Church; Church and Israel; Ethics in a technical society; Gospel on the periphery (Roma, refugee etc. issues); Youth ministry. The fourth semester ends with a final master thesis.
Requirements
BA in Christian religious studies, Sufficient oral communication skills in English and ability to write academic papers (e.g. TOEFL), Substantial knowledge of the Bible, General knowledge of Church history and Christian doctrines, Basic skills in the field of practical theology, e.g. preaching, counseling, building and managing of communities

Description of selection and entrance examination process
Submittion of required documents, oral examination takes place through Microsoft Teams. The candidate has to have at least 30 points out of 50 for a successful entrance exam.

In the first half of the four semester programme a unified basic training is provided including the following courses:

Hermeneutics of the New Testament
Anthropology from Theological Perspective
Contemporary Protestant Theology from WW2
History and Presence of Church and Society
History of Christian Thought
Christian Spirituality
Communication Skills Development
In the 3rd and 4th semester of the programme students will have to choose a specialisation in the field of Biblical Perspectives in Our Society. Students will have to complete at least two of the following 5 topics to gain 120 credits.
